My cousins son has autism and she did her best to convince me not to vaccinate my son. I sat down with my pediatrician to discuss my issues. She provided me with books and published medical journals about the vaccines and how it is not linked to autism. It is very easy to associate the two. When your child begins to receive their vaccines it is at the same time they are developing and growing. Their first year of life they learn to laugh, some walk, talk, etc. It all happens during the same time they are getting their vaccines. If your child has the autistic trait, they will become autistic regardless of what you do. You cant prevent it. But u can prevent measles, hepatitis, small pox, polio, etc. You put your child more at risk without it.

Thanks Ellie. My sister vaccinated all 3 of her children as well. In fact, I don’t know anyone who hasn’t vaccinated their kids. I do have a cousin that has a son who is autistic. I will also probably reach out to her to get her feedback and opinion.

I have three children. As a mom I vaccinated all of them. I have never regretted it. I find the risks of not vaccinating much higher these days. Yet it is a very personal choice. I hope this helps.

Thank you so much for sharing your story Flora. From what I’ve read, most parents of autistic children say the same thing, that their child became ill after the shots. It is such a difficult decision because I’ve also read of children dieing from diseases such as the chicken pox and measles as a result of not getting vaccinated.

I have a nephew who is autistic & from my own experience & from what I saw he became ill after his shots which leads me to believe waiting for some to get there shots may be better however it is a very personal & private opinion. My belief is that if it came to the light it would cost the government billions of dollars for all the children that are diagnosed with autism.

Love this article! Truth is, I’m constantly the one breaking things up. I often run from the relationship, and have come to notice I run faster when things feel as if they are to good to be true. Of course, this is because I have a lot of work to do on myself as I’m currently doing when it comes to healing from past traumas and hurt. It took this last relationship with someone I still love deeply to really help me take a look at myself. It wasn’t like he told me I needed to look at myself-I just began to realize that certain patterns were repeating it self. It got me to thinking what in the world is going on with ME! Why does it feel like I have been here before, and so forth…So, although I love this person very much and we have broken up, I find myself content with where we are today. See, I just know in my heart that I’m where I’m supposed to be-working on me and healing in order to be able to have a healthy relationship in my life, and this is exactly the breakthrough that this last relationship gave me, and for this alone I’m grateful.

Thank you Tanya for replying and for sharing your story. I’m sorry that you had to go through such a horrible experience. Parents must always do what they can to protect their children. Most of all, parents need to trust their children and know that their child comes to them with this type of information they should believe them.

To molest a child is to destroy their innocence. Anyone who does this to a child deserves nothing but the worst society can offer them. As a survivor of child sexual abuse, I can tell you that at 40 years old it still affects me. I am extremely protective and maybe over protective of my 14 year old daughter. No sleep overs, nothing that could put her in any kind of danger. It is unfortunate that she has to live with my insecurities about people, but that is what happens when you are molested as a child. The trust of people never comes back. My grandfather did this to me… My family still doesen’t believe that such an amazing man could be so awful. He was, he did and that is exactly how they get away with it…. The grooming, the threats…. It works and then when you finally get a voice and say this happened to me, they call you a liar.
